Christmas Vacation

So I haven't posted in awhile. Mainly because I've been at my parent's house and they STILL don't have their internet hooked up, and I didn't find a wireless signal in their house until the day before I left, and even then it was veerrry slow! But here's what I did over Christmas break.

I went to Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was very very cold, and wasn't fully light out until 10 am!! But besides that, I liked the town. The best thing about the city is that there are 19 liquor stores!!! This is a city of only 40 000 people, and in the 2 minutes it took me to drive from my parent's house to the main street, I passed 3 liquor stores! Apparently the province doesn't run the liquor stores there, so people just open them.
While I was there we took a drive to BC to a place called Dawson Creek! I thought that was awesome because I used to be a fan of the show Dawson's Creek. On the way to Dawson Creek we passed some buffalo farms, aaaaaaaaan a reindeer farm!!!! But the reindeer weren't outside - I was pretty disappointed.
While in GP, I went to the local ski hill. There were only 2 runs open: a beginner hill and an expert run. I stuck to the beginner run at first because I didn't think my snowboarding abilities were really black diamond quality, but after awhile that one small run got a little boring so I decided to tackle the black diamond. On my way down the steepest hill I have ever boarded down I noticed that on the outside of the quite narrow trail was a hill with lots of trees, and at the bottom of the hill was a river, and once you have bulleted to the bottom of this trail, there is nothing but the river on the other side....and there weren't fences!! Now, even though this place wasn't big, it was still the biggest ski hill I have ever boarded and I didn't really have the confindence in my intermediate snowboarding abilities to make it down the hill without plummeting over the side of the hill and into the river. But since it didn't happen the first time, I decided that it probably wouldn't happen again.
I also got to go to Jasper while I was there. The mountains were pretty cool, but everything that we wanted to do there was closed! So we just ended up driving around and looking in some of the shops. We did see big horned sheep though, they were super close too!
Then, Wednesday it was time to come home. My brother flew with me, and we were late arriving at one of the airports and didn't have much time until our next plane left. My brother said he had to go to the bathroom, and to wait for him. So I thought, OK, boys pee fast, he'll be quick. Little did I know he was going to take the longest dump ever! They ended up announcing our names and telling us to get to our plane for final boarding. I definately laughed at him for that one!
Now I am back.
