Missing Home

Well, I kinda missed home today - actually, I missed food that I buy back home. I was super hungry after work, and didn't feel like cooking up a gourmet meal like I usually do, so I decided I'd go to the grocery store and get a pizza pocket type thing that I get back home...they're tasty and I don't know what they're called, but I would know them if I saw them. Aaaaaaaanyway, there were none in the grocery store. Now, I don't know if that's just the grocery store, or if you just can't get them out here. I am also disappointed with there not being Ringolos out here - they're only my favourite! I don't know why they haven't thought them up out here. I am also sad to say that my favourite juice is not available out here either...stupid western Canada.

On a happier note...I only need $280 and I can buy my ticket to Germany! Wohoo!

What's new

So, I haven't been up to much this week, mainly just working at the restaurant, where I have encountered a few weird and creepy old men. YIKES! One old man pulled on my apron strings...I still get shivers from that one. While another old man told me I was fat...I think it was supposed to be funny, but it didn't turn out that way.
Me: "Would you like any dessert?"
Old Man: "No thank you...I don't want to get fat like you."
And then he laughed. I walked away, not offended, but confused. I didn't know if he was serious or if it was just a really bad joke.
I have also applied for another job. Now, our computer is just getting over a virus, and we still don't have Word or anything like that on it....you know, the stuff you use all the time. :P Anyway, I emailed my resume to this place, and decided to call the next to day to make sure they got it. Nobody answered the phone, so I proceeded to call just about every half hour. Later that afternoon I got a call from them saying "I see you called a couple of times." Boy was I embarrassed! They saw that I called a hundred billion times! Oi! At least she thought it was funny and not annoying.
In awesome news, I am going to the Warped Tour! WOHOO!! Here is the site for the Calgary show: http://www.warpedtour.com/7-14.html. It's going to be a road trip at the same time since it takes about 10 hours to drive to Calgary from GP.
I'm going to eat now before I have to go back to work, but I will post again soon!

Not Long Now!!

I only need $520 and then I can book my ticket to Germany to visit Greg!! I figure the end of next week should do it!

Fun times in GP

So last night I went out to a bar with people from work. Just when I thought you couldn't get more small town country than the Thirsty Mule Saloon back in Sussex, I discovered The Corrall...complete with real grass for the floor and everything - the grass isn't always there I hear, but it was awesome! I loved the grass floor...you never stuck to it, it absorbed spills...really quite a brilliant idea! While there, I also ran into a friend who graduated from Acadia 2 years ago! Guess GP is turning out to be the place to be! I took the "fun bus" home from the bar last night because it was free and I didn't want to spend another $10 on a cab - even WITH the student discount...and I totally asked for that!

Well, my parents left for New Brunswick this morning for 2 weeks! My brother is graduating high school back there, so now I have the whole place to myself for the rest of the month! Wohoo! If I knew more than 4 people here I could have a party!

I think that's about it for now...I'm $30 closer to getting to Germany. Yay!

Oh Viruses

So, our computer has been out of comission for the past few days due to a virus that our anti-virus thing was unable to do anything about! What are the odds. But now our computer is as good as new!
Well, I've started a new job, and am starting another new one tomorrow. I've been painting the past couple of days at someone's house...and the ladder fell on me! It was actually kind of funny though - it was a huge, heavy ladder extended to it's fullest, and me not being very strong was trying to move it and adjust it myself, and it started to fall toward me, and I was like...oh god! please don't let this thing fall on my head! So I thought the best thing to do would be to stick my head between the rungs as I lowered it to the ground...it ended up smashing into the fence and I stirred up the annoying chihuaha next door..it kept growling at me. Tomorrow I go to work landscaping...it pays more so I choose it!
So, I might be going to the Warped Tour in Calgary next month! All I need are the days off cause Calgary is like a 10 hour drive from GP, and I should probably be able to go. Me and 3 other people who are actually from Sussex (I didn't know them when I lived there though) are going to go! It's pretty sad that the only people I hand around with here are from my howetown...I'm really branching out out here. Oh well.
So, this is turning into a pretty long blog, so I will end it for now.

Blogging Again

So, I thought I'd blog again. I got frustrated because I could never get pictures to post and stay posted, but I'm hoping that all that has changed!

Well, I'm in Alberta for the summer. Not a lot goes on...there's a lot of Maritimers here; in fact, most of the people I meet are from the east coast. So far I've met only 3 people who actually grew up in this town. There's also a looot of Newfies here...I might pick up a Newfie accent while living in Alberta...weird, eh?

I'm working 2 jobs this summer, which is good cause I'm planning on visiting Greg in Germany, and I want to go to the doctah's wedding in Australia! I work at a restaurant and make very little money by night, and by day I am a labourer...yup, a labourer. I work for an oil and natural gas company and paint and stuff. I wear coveralls, a hard hat, work boots and everything! It's pretty sexy.

So that's what I've been up to so far. I will post again since I don't have a lot to do here.

Until next time - Keep fit, and have fun!
